Trial of the Gods: Ariadne’s Journey has a very different style of artwork and gameplay than its predecessor, Trial of the Gods: Ariadne's Fate . It is less exaggerated and cartoony, but still simpler and of appeal to a younger audience. As in the original game, additional fantasy artwork/scenes can be unlocked from the various "Ariadne's Looms" match-3 games that are optional and separate from the storyline. In terms of mythology, players and purists will find the story and artwork only incidentally related to Greek mythology.
